OK so some variety here, we start really slow on the first track, then I try something I've never done before (& wouldn't do live) , which is shift up the pitch, while mixing into another track, so I go from around 116BPM to around 130BPM on the first transition. Which was really tricky for me, and took me quite a while to master. You'll notice I used a track with quite a pronounced beat to achieve this! I think it sounds pretty good, but you might have other ideas..... The rest of the mix stays at the same tempo, but there is quite a random selection of house genres in here. Just to keep you on your toes!
Hope you find to your liking & hope you like the first transition (which I quite proud of lol!)
For me this is more a cool mix with deeper dance house tracks, but it´s awesome! The first transition is really unremarkable, it´s a good work! Sometimes you can also work with short transitions out of beat to change the tempo, that can be very cool (crossfade out of beat)!
Anyone who can weave a prog house song like "Pressure" and deep house, almost lounge "Laid Back" in the same set is an artist. Topped off with your turntable mixing artistry beatmaching two songs AND increasing the pitch simultaneously. Well done, sir, well done.
Clearly you're stepping past "just mixing" and taking it to the next level, a sign of someone mastering their craft.
wow incredible, i love 50's ambient in "jungle dancing" it's so crazy !!! prutataa biggest, and what's i listen, " bakerman" by Laid back ( sunshine reggae 80's ? ) voice girl is the same of Tina Turner ? another good mix from you, many genre, well done Paul !!!!
haha i agree with jamie d...do it live. people don't notice mistakes (well, dj's do, but nobody else does...the general audience usually doesn't notice a mistake unless the needle skips across the record). and they definitely miss most of the cool stuff you do.
that was a good transition man, unconvetional stuff like that is always good. favorite tracks here are 3, 12 and 13.
