I started shitting my pants when I heard your intro track! That slapping bass is just so tight! I mean I saw that it was Dubtribe remix, but it was still surprisingly good, even better than anticipated. Great nu-disco sound, absolute fantastic arrangement, very mellow at the same time.
There's not a lot to say otherwise, cos your sound is so good - I mean "In Time" - how frickin mellow that tune is, I'm speechless...
It was only Danny Clark that I recognized first from the tracklist but now I see there's an AtJazz remix and TriCircle Records and Tru Thoughts, quality labels. This will be pretty good, I can tell even before listening...
Your sound quality is awesome, I guess it's quality sources (maybe even WAV) and it's straight to 128kbps as it is streamed, surprisingly good sound. My 320kbps downloadable mixes get really crappy when converted to 128k streaming (we talked about this, I know you don't like the 320k downloads :-)
I just listened to the whole set while doing housework. All I can say is: wow! I mean WOW! WOW! WOOOOW!
Or I should just rather say holy shit!

Man, this is just so awesome, I honestly haven't heard such a great selection for a long time! The whole vibe very much reminds me of my own "Journey To The Sun" mix, so it was a double joy for me, I would have selected all these tracks myself, I could not argue with any single one of them, they are all brilliant! This is when I get my Beatport shopping list ready and put on some titles, artists and labels...
I don't want to analyze each individual track (although I'd love to) - it's really hard in this case. The vibraphone on Track 3 and 4 is just so cool, Track3 sound like a crossover between Roy Ayers and Modern Jazz Quartet for me with Milt Jackson - very jazzy tune. The bass in Track 5 is just so mellow, this reminded me of a track and I just don't know what that is. A similar acid jazz one that popped in my mind is this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=icHiN7RSdygVocals are wonderful here. This whole set is just sooo fresh, superfresh! Since summer is here (hehe - I guess it's the same southern hemmisphere influence, can't imagine this set being born in winter time!) it is just such a great match to the weather. I really want to listen to this a lot! (Maybe I could get a 320k version or lossless from you somehow :-)
Your transition at 18:33 is a maseterpiece, two clashing keys in the two songs, there was no other way to mix them, this is a textbook cutover! I liked that you did not wait for a bridge with beats only, it just cuts over and changes the mood at the next bar, very nice!
You've got some serious latin and brazilian grooves running all the way through this set, very subtly most of the time, Track 9 is a good example. The whole mood reminds me of the "Bossa Tres Jazz" compilations, one of my favs, maybe even the previous song I had in mind was on that.
And then - the top! This last track, 10 is the real bomb, than you so much for this! It does fit into the same mellow/summery exciting feel but it's very unique, at least I just like it so much. To be honest it's really the chorus starting at 59:45 that gets me, just so smooth, it makes me want to fall in love in the summer breeze - great feeling!
Maestro! This is a masterpiece! I'm surprised it's just 60 minutes, it felt much longer when I listened, such a nice flow plus it really takes on a journey (to the sun :-) and to another place and time.
Hats off mate, honestly I'm really impressed. It should probably be in the Soulful House genre not Deep House, of course it's deep but Soulful was created especially for tunes like this. I have to say that alogside with masters Steve K and Guido P, you have just entered my Fav Mix.DJ list, please put me on your official fan list! If you haven't heard Steve K, have a listen, his latest soulful set was the best so far for me, but I have to say (and it's not easy) that you have just topped it for me with this and you're No. 1!
Let me know if you're up for some collaboration mix in the future with this sound - I'd be really honored!
