Again a fantastic selection of some smooth electro-jazz tunes with some great classics...I've been searching for Track#4 for years and never had a clue it was Pat Metheny. You've made my day with just that great up-beat track! Also the Swiss native Truffaz is one of my favorite horn players of all time. Once again you get two thumbs up from me all around!

I was actually having a Miles Davis 'session' on Sat night, what a coincidence....

Tracks 2, 4 (not sure which version is my fav but liking this), 5, 8, 10 (maybe cos it's someone elses original), 12, (not sure about Beastie Boys....just yet)....16 (like v. much, great ending to the track too), and as Dj Dimsa said, track 17 is a wonderful track to end.....very smooth yet funky....

Yeah, the Beastie Boys learnt how to play some instruments, sometimes they got hight and recorded these Jimmy Smith sounding excellent organ based stuff - they were scattered on many of their albums but then released an instumental compilation with all of them.

I agree that Herb Alpert is not the best, his stuff with the Tijuaha Brass is way too overpopularized. However he had some rare gems like the song "Bullish", "Rotation" and this whole smooth jazz album "Second Wind". The speciality of this song "Flirtation" here is that it was featured on Mark Farina's "Mushroom Jazz" I believe Volume 3, that's how I learnt about it and since then the whole album is my favourite.

Andrew J is my good friend and DMC DJ Championship Teammate, his whole album with Zsolt Kaltenecker, the Hungarian piano player and other jazz musicians is excellent (it's titled Melodies). You used one of his track earlier (with Zoohacker) on a lounge mix of yours, they are actually coming out with a new album now in August.

The Ronny Jordan album is called "The Antidote" - I love Ronny and all of his work, he'll definitely be back in my future mixes. I also love his "So What" version, but I basically love any cover of this Miles Davis classic (I have heaps of them...)

Ahhh ……Marcus Miller setting the scene. First heard of Marcus in the late 70’s working with the likes of Bobbi Humphrey & Lonnie Liston Smith (Lonnie as you know is the guy who got me into Jazz Funk)

Benson’s “That’s Right” from the album of the same name ….smooth jazz at it’s best.

Felt uplifted with Pat Metheny’s “Here To Stay” another artist from the 70’s who can now be found in what I like to call “The Jazz Funk Retirement Gerne” – Smooth Jazz.

“So What” ….. many version of this track around …. Ronny Jordan is my fav from his 1995 album (name escapes me at the moment)

Herb Albert … one of the more well known trumpet players (although not the best) with some success in pop charts in the 80’s. If you hav’nt already checkout Eddie Henderson…..now this guy can play the trumpet.

Yellowjackets ….I’ve heard some of there work but cant say they excite me.

Crusaders, Hacock & Miles Davis…..enough said.

Love Nuyorican Soul…this is a very nice cover version of Bob James “Nautilus” from the Bob James – "One" album (1974)

Track 11 (not you) is new to me

Another big gun from the 70’s …. Courtney Pine …a true master

Ronnie Foster…..who has worked a lot with Benson was very under rated in my opinion. He enjoyed some success (underground Jazz Funk) in the 1978 with “Happy Somg” from his Love Satellite album

W.T.F…..Beastie Boys!!……well caught me napping on this one…..wonderfull track…luv it.

Track 15 is again new to me…..loved the keyboards on this….reminded me of early Joe Thomas.

Track 16 is again new to me…..at first I thought it was Gap Mangione (the brother to Chuck Mangione) you might wanna check out Gap Mangione’s’ “Suite Lady” album (1978)
