Just the kind of downtempo I like, full of head nodding groove beats! Nice combo of soul and jazzy tracks - Chante Moore was a big surprise, what a great track! I just almost used a Chante Moore song for my RnB mix from the Straight Up album - however that is pure soul whilst this is cool downtempo. Need to look out for more stuff from her if she's that good.
The Lisa Shaw track is a bliss - as always, many would say but let's not downplay the greatness of her voice and the production. This is a true gem, a beautiful song.
Great mixing and selection, I could be repeating myself and say that there's not much more to compliment your works that hasn't been said. I can try however to give a different angle: listening to the first part of the mix (and more specifically between 4-8) I had a feeling that you were getting really close to the "Mushroom Jazz" sound. I thought you appreciated that comment, since you know wll what it means and who I'm comparing you with...
Track 8 and 9 gets more ambient, but I still like it since 9 has this cool oldschool hip-hop groove, I reckon it's SWV's "Right Here"'s drum track, awesome!Track 10
is unbelievable! I die for the Fender Rhodes piano sound and this guy can play it well! (I hope you'll like this comment after my rant about some Kevin Yost tracks, hope you did not get mad at me for those!
) The whole mood of this one very much reminds me of Herbie Hancock's Chameleon, the chilled piano solo in the middle of that song... This was the top for me in the set!
Big 50 - another classic for my iPod!
